Richard J. Monrad

Richard John Monrad, age 80 of Riverview, entered Heaven’s glory on February 25, 2023. Beloved husband of Connie of 56 years, and devoted father of Christine (Jim) Halladay, and Eric Monrad. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ruth Monrad.

He graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1960, attended Kalamazoo College for two years, then graduated from Western Michigan University in 1966, where he was a founding member of Beta Sigma Psi.

He worked at Ford Motor Company as an Engineer for 39 years until he retired in 2007 and was a member of SAE.

He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 45 years, and a trustee for many years. Dick loved sailing, joining West Shore Sail Club; sports cars, joining Porsche Club of America, and powerboating.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am and will take place on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Trenton, MI. There will be an in state at 10:00 am. Burial will take place the following day at Midland Cemetery in Midland, MI.
