Richard J. Kinzler

Richard Jay Kinzler, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 10th, 1941, he was the son of Louis and Sadie (Wynne) Kinzler. He graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in Joliet, IL. and graduated from Michigan State University with bachelor's in packaging engineering.

Richard was a devoted husband for 46 years, a caring and loving father, an adored "grandpa" and "great grandpa", a brother, an uncle and brother-in-law, and a wonderful friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his wife Tomine "Ann" Kinzler, his parents, and his sisters Joyce (Robert) Kinzler and Joan (Francis) Jesonowski. He is survived by his four children Kenneth (Rosario) Kinzler, Tina (James) Miller, Christina Kinzler, and Katrina Kinzler. His grandchildren; Vanessa (Mark) Chauca, Brandt Kinzler, Austin Kinzler, Kenneth Kinzler, Kirk Kinzler, Elyse Miller, Eliana Kinzler and James Miller. His great grandchildren; Adalyn Chauca, Alana Chauca, and Adriana Chauca. His brother Gordon (Mary) Kinzler.

Richard was a proud Spartan and passionately rooted for Michigan State Athletics. He also loved the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers as well. He loved to travel, mainly to Hawaii and Las Vegas. He loved his various animals throughout the years, including a strong bond with his yorkie of many years "Whiskey."

Most important to Richard was spending time with his family and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, a cause Richard deeply cared about as he founded many of the Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in the Downriver area.
