Richard Garcia

Richard Garcia, age 83 of Southwest Detroit, passed away April 26th, 2022. Born July 8th, 1938 in Detroit to the late Juan and Rosaura Garcia. He would later marry his love Katherine “Gail” Estoppey in 1956. Together they had 5 beautiful children Lisa Garcia, Lorrie (Mark) Hodnicki, David (Becky) Garcia, Andrea Garcia, and the late Anthony Garcia. Proud grandfather of Mario, Emily, Angela, Richard, Jeffrey, Robert, Beya, Julian, Blade, Kastein, Samantha, Cory, and Dominic. Great grandfather of Penny Lain, Eric, Akaileyah, Maverick, and Sophia. Richard spent many years giving back to his community. Touching and enriching the lives of Southwest Detroit’s youth while coaching for multiple sports. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family
