Richard Edward Fitchpatrick

Fitchpatrick, Richard E., age 77, of Lincoln Park passed away on 2/22/2016. Richard was a retired foreman from Detroit Edison where his crew and buddies always called him Fitz. He spent many years climbing poles and trimming trees. He is survived by his loving children, Shawn (Kimberly), Colleen ( Dwain), and Kathleen. He was exceedingly proud of his two grandchildren, Katie and Thomas. If you wanted to see a recent picture he would pull them out of hat. It was most often his favorite Greek fisherman hat. Recently, he had taken to wearing a bright yellow ball cap from his alma mater, Taylor Center, this was much to the dismay of his son ,Shawn. Richard was an avid fisherman who gave away many more fish than he kept. This was just one way in which he expressed his generosity. He was always willing to give what he had to those who needed it. His favorite activity since retiring was getting together for weekly, family dinners. He didn't care if they were homemade or if we all went to his favorite place, Leon's, as long as we were all together. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
