Richard Carl Werner

Richard Werner, (Dick) passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the age

of 90 while surrounded by his loving family. Cherished husband of Judith Werner. Loving father of Sandy

(John) Grettenberger. Proud grandfather of Paige (Colin McNally) Grettenberger, and Anna (Bryce)

Birchmeier.

Dick was born in Detroit, Michigan and was the youngest of 8 children.  He started his career as a tool

and die maker and went on to own several auto-related businesses throughout his lifetime.  In his early

twenties, Dick played semi-professional football for 3 years as a linebacker for the Melvindale Redskins.

An avid Detroit sports fan, he rarely missed watching games of his beloved Tigers and Lions. His other

passion was travel. Throughout their 60-plus years of marriage, he and Judy toured the globe together

visiting 6 of the 7 continents.

A memorial gathering will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Trenton on October 23, 2024 at 10:30 am and a memorial service will be at 11:00 am.

An inurnment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park Cemetery.
