Moore, Richard A., Sr. Dr. of Trenton, MI. Died July 31, 2008 at home from chronic heart disease. He was 79. Dr. Moore was born Oct. 29, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Robert W. Moore and Mary A. Havey. He received his Ph.D in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1961. He worked as a research chemist at BASF, Wyandotte, MI until his retirement in 1992. He also served in the US Air Force as a chemist during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the American Chemical Society. Throughout his adult life, Dr. Moore was an active participant in church ministries, serving as CCD teacher, lector, and choir member. He was an active member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Saint Timothy Conference, until his death. He is survived by his loving wife Loretta (nee: McNertney) of Trenton, MI, children Mary Martha (Timothy R.) Machowicz, of St. Johns, MI, Kate (Richard) von Ritter, of Ann Arbor, MI, the late Anne Moore of New York, NY, Francis J. Moore (Debbie Noble- Moore) of Tempe, AZ, Richard A., Jr. (Gina) Moore of Berkley, MA, Michael G. (Debra) Moore, of Grand Prairie, TX, Loretta R. (Steven) Diem of Berkley, MI, Monica A. Moore, of Lake Placid, NY.; grandchildren Thomas and Anna Machowicz, Ursula Rose von Ritter, Ashley Ndukwu, Jordan and Caleb Moore, Emalene and Jackson W. Moore and one sister, Mary Lou Robb of Orlando, FL. and nephew, Matthew Robb of Orlando, FL.
