Raymond Joseph Ernest

Raymond Joseph Ernest, age 81 of Rockwood, passed away February 25, 2022. Born November 15, 1940 in Wyandotte, Raymond was the son of Charles and Marcella (Gonyea) Ernest. A 1959 graduate of Trenton High School, he faithfully served our country in the United States Army from October 13, 1959 until October 9, 1962. He married the love of his life, Sharon Johnson, on July 20, 1963. Sadly she preceded him in death July 18, 2013. Raymond worked for Firestone and then Benkiser for many years before his retirement. He also was a member of the Rockwood Fire Department and served on the Rockwood City Council. Raymond enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and hunting. Raymond leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Michelle Thompson; grandchildren: Vance (Kayla Hubbard) Cross, Nicholas (Desiree) Clark and Joseph (Heather) Thompson; as well as six great grandchildren: Kaiden, Gavin, Autumn, Addison, Benjamin, and Aubrey. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Dannielle Ernest and three siblings: Richard, Judy and Phyllis.
