Raymond B. Beaudrie

Born in Rockwood, Raymond was the son of Otto & Rodella (Barron) Beaudrie. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953 serving in both Korea and Germany. Raymond married the love of his life, Joyce Blanchette, on June 6, 1953 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport. Raymond operated Ray's Barber Shop in Rockwood for many years and was known by his motto "Left Handed Barbering Done Right. He retired in 1991. His memberships include VFW Post 4230 Rock of Gibraltar, Downriver Antique Club, he is president of the Rockwood Housing Commission and a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockwood. Some of his favorite past times included working on Model A cars, water skiing and boating on Swan Creek, and traveling down the Mississippi River on a river boat cruise. Raymond leaves to cherish his memory, Joyce, his wife of the past 61 years; children: Denise (Dave) Reaume of Newport, Beth Ann (L. Glenn) LaDuke of Newport, Mark (Deborah) Beaudrie of Newport, Renee (Dan) Carleton of Monroe and Scott Beaudrie (and his special friend Karen Deskovitz) of Rockwood; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Reaume, Stacey Reaume, Dana (Phil) Stamper, Aaron (Jen) LaDuke, Ryan Beaudrie, Kyle Beaudrie, Evan Beaudrie, Danielle (Bret) Winegardner, and Paige Carleton; as well as three great grandchildren: Macy Stamper, Trevor Stamper and William LaDuke. In Addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a sister Marcella Dodge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude's Children's Hospital, St. Mary's Catholic Church Restoration Fund, St. Charles School or Stepping Stones Therapeutic Riding.
