Bob was the son of Joseph & Anna (Schatz) Ackerman. He married the love of his life, Faye Hutchinson, January 29, 1955. A dedicated husband and family man, Bob worked over 38 years for General Motors, until retiring in 1993. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee, he was known for his love of the outdoors; fishing, traveling and trips up north. But best of all for his large vegetable garden, especially his sweet corn and strawberries. Bob also enjoyed the challenge of Crossword Puzzles and Jigsaw Puzzles. Bob leaves to cherish his memory, Faye, his wife of the past 59 years; his children: Debra (Larry) McClain of Addison, Robert (Andrea) Ackerman of Whitmore Lake, Charles Ackerman of Toledo, Linda (Mike) Pacheco of Brownstown, Tom (Susan) Ackerman of Oxford and Laurena (Joseph) Charles of Newport; as well as 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a sister Ethel (Charles) Lewis of Birmingham. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Melcher Ackerman, Eugene Ackerman, Charles Ackerman, and 4 sisters: Marie Oberleiter, Catherine Hebert, Rita Neiman and Margaret Markraft. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Bob's honor are asked to consider Mercy-Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
