Phyllis Mae Miller

Born in Maumee, Ohio, Phyllis was the daughter of Vincent P. and Velma H. (Bayes) Wise. She married William G. Miller February 12, 1972 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee. Sadly he preceded her in death January 31, 2014 Phyllis was a graduate of Maumee High School and attended her 70th year class reunion in September of 2013. Phyllis' passion was her business, Otter Creek Marina which was established in 1951. She began building the business commuting on weekends from the family home in Maumee to LaSalle with the help of her parents. Phyllis was a very hard worker, but her love for boating and the marina business made the work a pleasure for her. She and her husband William owned and operated Otter Creek Marina for nearly 63 years. She and Bill both truly loved the work and the many friends they made along the way. Phyllis is survived by her step children: William E. Miller, Susan (Ken) Brower and Richard Miller; nieces and nephews: Susan Wise, Kate Wise, Patricia (Phil) Schiavo, Mike Wise and Steve Wise. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Vincent "Nip" Wise.
