Esordi, Phyllis A.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Phyllis A. Esordi announces her passing on January 24, 2024 at the age of 81. She passed away surrounded by love and family at her side.

Phyllis was born in Youngstown, Ohio where she graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School and then St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing. After becoming an RN, she worked as an instructor at St. Elizabeth's before taking a position at The Cleveland Clinic as a critical care nurse. Later, she dedicated her life to her husband, David, of 58 years, and her three sons. Phyllis was a constant attendant and dedicated fan at all of her sons' sporting events at St. Cyprian's School, Gabriel Richard High School, and their respective universities.

She was also a longtime member of the Grosse Ile Garden Club and a lifetime member of the Michigan Garden Club, where she helped maintain the flower beds on Grosse Ile, bringing her love for flowers and gardening for all to enjoy. Phyllis was truly the cornerstone of her family and a constant source of guidance, support and knowledge to her sons and their families.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ann Scheetz. She is survived by her husband, David; her sons, Thomas (Leslie), Michael (Diana), and Joseph; and her three brothers Henry, Howard, and David Scheetz. She is also survived by her eight beloved grandchildren; Molly, Morgan, Sarah (Andrew) Borman, Caroline, Margaret (Zachary) Kubiak, Samuel, Mallorie, and Nicholas; and her great grandson, Liam.
