Peter Xavier Mooney Sr.

Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Peter was the son of Philip and Mildred (Dorris) Mooney. A graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Peter faithfully served our country in the United States Army for 9 years earning the rank of Major. This is where he met the love of his life Geraldine Szul. They were married February 3, 1962. Sadly she preceded him in death January 31, 2007. Peter continued his education at University of Detroit Mercy for his Bachelor Degree and then the University of Michigan Dearborn for his Masters Degree. He was an Engineering Supervisor for Ford Motor Company for over 27 years, retiring in 1996. Peter was a member of St. Constance Catholic Church, North Cape Yacht Club, was a member of the Taylor Planning Commission and the Automotive Technology Board at Henry Ford Community College.

Peter leaves to cherish his memory his children: Peter (Margaret Beck) Mooney Jr., Monica Mooney, Daniel (Pamela) Mooney, Therese (Donald) Claypool, Marirose (Jared) Hutcherson and Philip (Maria) Mooney; as well as 17 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a sister Barbara Brett. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings.
