Pearl E. Marquardt

Born July 30, 1921 in Ecorse Township, Pearl was the daughter of Fred and Sophia (Freese) Backhaus. She married the love of her life, Leonard Marquardt on May 29, 1943. Sadly he preceded her in death June of 2003. A dedicated homemaker Pearl loved gardening. She and her husband were founding members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Flat Rock. Pearl leaves to cherish her memory her children: Janet (Art) Harold of Rockwood, Karen Purdy of South Rockwood and Nancy (Fred) Lambrix of Maybee; grandchildren Andrea (Stephen) Winter, Denise Olson, Lori (Mike) Adams, Danny Harold, Andrew (Ann) Clark and Steven Purdy; as well as 10 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Dorothy, Harvey, Melvin, Howard and Harriett. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honor of Pearl, are asked to consider St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
