Patricia Ann Halliburton

After 72 beautiful and meaningful years, Patricia Ann Halliburton transitioned peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and godmother, she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and compassion.

Patricia was the youngest of five children born to the late Laurence and Dorothy Gregory on November 9, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. A proud graduate of Central High School, she completed her studies at the age of 16 in 1969 before continuing her education at Wayne County Community College and the University of Michigan, where she earned a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Arts, and, in 1986—while working and raising two boys—a Master of Social Work.

Patricia went on to build a meaningful career helping others in several roles including at Mercy Memorial’s psychiatric unit, Monroe Hospice, and most recently, the John D. Dingell Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Detroit. She was especially passionate about caring for the veterans she served and made a lasting impact on their lives.

She was the proud mother of two sons: Erin Halliburton (who preceded her in death) and Andrew (Danielle) Halliburton. Her four grandchildren—Allison Halliburton (whom she lovingly raised as a daughter), Clarize Halliburton, Payton Halliburton, and Adrian Halliburton—were the center of her world. She adored each of them and treasured every moment they shared.

Patricia also had four brothers she dearly loved: Laurence (the late Asenath) Gregory, Timothy (Victoria) Gregory, Delbert (Gale) Gregory, and the late Vincent (Yvonne) Gregory. She enjoyed spending time with them as well as her many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was known for her warmth, generosity, and the joy she found in bringing people together. Patricia loved to cook and took pride in hosting family and friends in her home. Easter was her favorite holiday, a time she poured her heart into, celebrating her faith and family with beautiful meals, laughter, and togetherness.

A woman of strong and unwavering faith, Patricia loved attending church and was a longtime member—and returning member—of Second Baptist Church in Ypsilanti.

She was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and a lifelong University of Michigan fan who never missed a game. Patricia found joy in warm weather, tending to her flowerbeds, and taking peaceful walks with her cherished dogs, Teddy and Tillie, who brought her immense comfort and companionship throughout the years.

Patricia’s life was defined by love—for her family, her community, her faith, and her calling to serve others. Her legacy of compassion, resilience, and devotion will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26th at Second Baptist Church, located at 301 S Hamilton St, Ypsilanti, MI.

Family and friends are invited for a viewing from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
