Patricia Ann Rees

Patricia Ann Rees entered the presence of Jesus on Monday, October 14, 2024. She died surrounded by those she loved and in complete peace in Christ Jesus, her Lord.

She lived a life full of service to Jesus, her family, and the world-wide church. She was a faithful member of Inter-City Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Ladies Bible Fellowship class.

She loved her family fiercely and celebrated many traditions and histories with them. She was wife to Ora “Sonny” Rees until his death in 1982. She was a devoted mother - Debbie (Jeff) Galvan, Terry (Cheryl) Rees, David (Wendy) Rees, and Daniel (Candace) Rees. She was a proud grandma - Stephanie, Janeen (Robert), Bryan (Carly), Jennifer (Benjamin), Brennan (Kim), Bradley (Ashlee), Brady (Hannah), and the late Justin. She was Memaw to her great-grandchildren - Jameson, Ashlyn, Rhys, Lauryn, Zackary, Brody, Erickson, Julie, Harper, Connor, Charlotte, and Cooper. She said, “I have many, many blessings, but the biggest to me here on earth would be family.”

She gave much of her time to support the church around the world. She traveled to India and Bangladesh to serve those who ministered there. She visited the Holy Land multiple times to experience God’s Word more fully. She shared the Lord’s love for her in the way she cared for so many people.

She truly reflected her “verses to live by” 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 - So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. Memorial contributions in honor of Patricia may be made directly to Lily Pad, A Soft Place To Land, Inc.
