Oscar Nelson Campbell

Oscar Nelson Campbell, age 82 passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 with his family at his side.

Oscar, born in Tazewell, Tennessee, was the beloved son of Alva and Gladys (Ellison) Campbell. He was a proud graduate of Trenton High School with honors in 1961. Oscar went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University in 1965. His career as a Mechanical Engineer led him to roles at General Motors in Detroit and EDS in Romulus.

Oscar’s passions extended beyond his profession; he was an avid photographer, enjoyed painting, and had a deep interest in computer programming and mathematics. For the past five years, he faithfully attended Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church in Newport where he found fellowship and community with his family.

Oscar was one of six siblings. He leaves behind cherished siblings: Joe Campbell, James (Christine) Campbell, Dennis (Linda)

Campbell, Elizabeth (William) Musham, and Linda (John) Miller, along with several loving nieces and nephews. Oscar’s memory will be forever treasured by his family and friends.
