Opal Brown

Opal Brown, 86, of Gibraltar, died at 7:41pm at Oakwood Southshore Hospital, Trenton. Born May 26, 1925 in Newberry, Michigan, she was the daughter of Henry and Mae (Schivley) Babcock. Opal married Ralph O. Brown October 1, 1960. She worked as a cook for over 30 yrs. for Gibraltar School and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Gibraltar Choir. Surviving are her husband Ralph, four sons Gerald L. (Delores) Beauman of Colorado Springs, CO, Randolph J. (Sally) Beauman of Clarkston, MI, Arthur L. (Donna) Beauman II of Gibraltar, MI and Roger W. (Dawn) Brown of Adrian, MI, one brother Robert (Terri) Babcock of Oshkosh, WI and nine grandchildren Ricki, Traci, Jodi, Patrick, Noelle, Jennifer, Shannon, Brandon and Luke. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mae Babcock, first husband Arthur L. Beauman, two brothers Everet and Lloyd Babcock, three sisters Mary Bond, Ester Tyda and Joyce Whittenmeyer and one granddaughter Marie Beauman. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Gibraltar.
