Novice Laverne Skaggs

Novice Laverne (Jones) Skaggs of Southgate, MI passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Donald Clint Skaggs. Loving mother of Jerry Skaggs, Mary Jeannine (Edward) Duda, Cheryl (Peter) Glaab, III. Nana of Neil (Jill) Duda, Jaclyn (Dan) Dicicco, Allison (Jay) Clark, Kyle (Charlott) Glaab, Kristin (Jerry) Chandy, Peter Glaab, IV and Kara Glaab. Great Grandma of Jonah, Avery, Daphne, Josie, Raegan, Benjamin, Bradyn and Greyson. Preceded in death by her parents Lloyd Bolen and Annie Belle (Puckett) Jones. Her sister, Treva (Clay) Jones, Lloyd (Lois) Jones, Palmer (Marge) Jones, Murrell (Frank) Hopkins. She was the last surviving family member of that generation. Novice Laverne always wanted to finish her high school degree and graduated in 1975 with her daughter, Jeannine. She had a long career as a waitress at Sibley Gardens in Trenton and retired at the age of 81. Novice Laverne loved to garden and be outdoors. She loved traveling to Florida, Las Vegas and the casinos. She was a wonderful mother, Nana and great grandmother and will be missed tremendously.
