Norman J. Craanen

Craanen, Norman J., age 76, November 27, 2009 of Newport. Beloved husband of Joyce (Compeau-Cossey). Also survived by his sons Thomas Cossey, Nickolas (Christina) Craanen and Peter Craanen; his grandchildren Rebecca, Danielle, Samantha, Nathaniel, Genavieve and Christian; his brothers Robert (Betty) Craanen, Michael (Brenda) Craanen and Thomas (Judy) Craanen; his sister Geraldine (George) Johnson; many nieces and nephews. Norman was born February 27, 1933 in Wyandotte, MI to the late Gerald and Catherine (Doctor) Craanen. He married Joyce Compeau November 24, 1976. Norman has been a retired operation engineer since 1995, was a longtime member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport and U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Jacob Craanen.
