Macdonald, Noreen Jean (Howat), was born in Detroit, MI on December 7, 1930, was a longtime resident of Lincoln Park, MI and passed away February 14, 2015. Beloved wife of the late John Macdonald. Loving Mother to Anne (Pete) McKenna. Loving Step-Mother to Rose Brown, Catherine (Barry King) Macdonald, Margaret (John) Cooper, Andrew (Aline) Macdonald. Dear sister to Ceneth Kreutzer. Doting & enthusiastic grandmother to Jack and Nick McKenna, Debbie (David) Apperson, Christine (Scott) Pritchett, Ian (Erika) King, Colin (Annie) King, and Ivy Russell. Great-Grandmother to David, Kayla, Haley, Canaan, Alysia, Elijah, Keaton and Norah. Great-Great Grandmother to Gage.Dear Aunt to Kevin Kreutzer, Kim (Kevin) Dinco, Eric Kreutzer, Anita Skinner, Alayna (Greg) Heigel and great-aunt to Leah, McKenzie, Amelia, Bailey, Scott, Daniel, Daniel Jr., Tony, Eric, Shayna, Cori, Aurora, Kyle, and Maizy. Preceded in death by parents, Norman and Winnifred (Rattray) Howat, twin sister, Norma Howat, brother-in-law, Kenneth Kreutzer, son-in-law, Larry Brown, and nephew, Brian Skinner. 1948 Western High School graduate, Detroit, Michigan. Attended Marygrove College and Kendall School of Design, on a scholorship from Herman Miller for "a woman working in a man's field," graduating with a degree in Furniture Design. After college, worked in Chicago as a furniture designer. Returned to Michigan to work as an interior designer and accessory buyer. Traveled extensively. Happily married to John Macdonald for 43 years until his death in 2007. Very active in the Downriver Genealogical Society. Longtime member and volunteer, First Presbyterian of Dearborn. Active volunteer at Mixter Elementary School and the Lincoln Park Figure Skating Club. Noreen spent her last years living with her daughter Anne and family in Minnesota.
