Nancy M. Richards (Nee: Knopes)

Nancy Mae Richards (Knopes) (87) long time Riverview resident, passed away September 25, 2021 at her home in Riverview. Born March 15th 1934 in Wyandotte General Hospital to Mathias and Margreta (Daley) Knopes. Graduate of A E Smith High School (Riverview Community High School) Class of 1952. Married her husband Benjamin in 1953. Nancy was a loving and devoted wife and was preceded in death by her beloved husband Benjamin of 61 years. A dedicated homemaker, she also had worked for Chatham Supermarket for many years. She was a beloved mother, survived by her daughters Theresa and Katherine; Sadly, she was preceded in death by her sons Steven and John and daughter Patricia; and Dearest sister of the late Geraldine, Joyce and Evelyn. Very Loving Grandmother of 3: Laura (Steven) Brosky, Eric (Bonnie Hardin) Buhl, Robert Ditto. Best Nanna of 4 great grandchildren Cody, Gaven, Ethan and Cayden. She was also blessed with the love of many nieces, nephews, cousins and others. Her favorite things were family outings, to Wamplers Lake, Irish Hills, MI. making it a tradition from her childhood through all of ours. Her cruises to most of the Caribbean Islands were some of best times also. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, making homemade holiday cookies and fudge. She was a kind-hearted person who will always be in our hearts and deeply missed by many loving family and friends. We love you Mom. We will miss you deeply but are at peace knowing that you are now rejoined with your family in heaven. I am free don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following paths God made for me I took his hand I heard him call Then turned, and bid farewell to all I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to sing, to play Tasks left undone must stay that way I found my peace... at close of play And if my parting left a void Then fill it with remembered joy a friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened... deep with sorrow I wish you sunshine of tomorrow my life's been full I've savored much good friends, good times A loved one's touch perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it now with grief Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wants me now...
