Nancy Ann Sannar

Nancy Maurer Sannar, 79, of Estral Beach passed away on October 16, 2021, at Beaumont Trenton Hospital after a three-year fight against cancer. Nancy was born on March 16, 1942, in Grosse Pointe Farms to Ruth (Bashore) and John Francis Maurer. The second of four children, she graduated from St. Theresa High School in 1960. Nancy worked for Children’s World as a preschool teacher for over thirty years. She frequently shared memories of her travels, including her trips to Thailand, Hong Kong, and Hungary in the 1980s. Nancy married Phillip Sannar on October 1, 1960. In addition to Phil, Nancy is survived by her sons Daniel (Dorothy) of Novi and Andrew (Pamela) of New Port Richey, FL. Nancy was Nana to her four grandchildren: John of Alexandria, VA; Megan of Englewood, CO; Brenden of Plymouth; and Alex of Birmingham. Nancy is survived by sisters Ruth (Werner) Baumgartner of Naples, FL, and Mary Bunch of Thornton, CO, and brother John Michael (Jan) Maurer of Tallahassee, FL. Flowers are welcomed. A celebration of life will also be held in Florida this spring. The family would like to encourage donations in Nancy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Fr. Solanus Guild.
