Virginia Ann “Ginny” Mignano, age 80 of Monroe, died 8:00 am Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Lutheran Home under the care of Mercy-Memorial Hospice. Born September 14, 1930 in Willoughby, Ohio, Virginia was the daughter of John & Pauline (Pawlowicz) Neboyskey. She married Sam Mignano on October 8, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A devoted homemaker Virginia worked for Rushlow’s Drug Store from 1948-1949 and then for Monroe Public Schools’ Kids Club from 1988-1994. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Christian Women’s Society, Virginia also volunteered at St. Joseph Food Closet and also for God Works. In addition to Sam, her husband of over 61 years, Virginia is survived by her children: Rosemary Mignano of Monroe, James (Janet) Mignano of Bloomfield Hills, Thomas Mignano of Allen Park and John (Corina) Mignano of Monroe. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Christine (Tim) Peiter, Kate (Adam) Taylor, Joe Mignano, Sarah Mignano, Mike Mignano, Michael (Jaime) Mignano, Anne Mignano, Sven Wollschlaeger, Enzo Mignano, Iana Mignano, Jaxx Mignano; four great grandchildren: Jackson & Sophie Peiter, Jacqueline & Joe Taylor; a daughter-in-law Cristi Mignano; sisters-in-law Patricia Neboyskey and Bernice Mignano as well as several nieces and nephews. Sadly Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; a son Joseph, three brothers and 5 sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Scleroderma Foundation or Mercy Memorial Hospice.
