Mrs. Shirley Ann Butson

Mrs. Shirley Ann Butson, age 74 of Trenton, went home to be with Our Lord at 3am Wednesday morning August 31, 2016. Loving wife of Rev. Dr. Billy K. Butson D.D. for 52 wonderful years. If you knew her, you loved her. She is survived by two sons, Anthony A. Butson and Gregory D. (Michelle) Butson, a stepson William (Cindy) Butson, brother Roy (Sandy) Baggett, Jr., sister Phyllis (the late Jim) Flynn, grandchildren Anthony H. (Jessica) Butson, Jacqueline (Pastor Andrew) Kinney, Pastor Christopher (Cathy) Butson, Jamie Butson, and Corey Butson, as well as four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Mr. William D. and Mrs. Mattie V. Pope, brother Jerry Baggett, and sister Barb (the late Michael) Cuip. Shirley was a tireless homemaker whose life was devoted to Our Lord Jesus Christ and her family. She worked sacrificially with the homeless for 27 years on the streets of Detroit. She gave up her own needs and pleasures for her family and others. I, Billy K. Butson was blessed with the greatest gift from God other than my salvation. Half of my heart has gone, but I know that one great day we will meet again in glory. Matt 11:28a "Come unto me all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I shall give you rest." Visitation Tuesday 2-9pm, Funeral Service Wednesday 1pm, at the Trenton Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
