Mrs Rita M. Babic

Rita M. Babic, age 95, of Brownstown, MI formerly of Monroe, passed away Wednesday June 18, 2014 in The Lutheran Home of Monroe, she had been in declining health. Rita was born April 5, 1919 in Monroe to Edward J. and Emma D. (Bushroe) LaVigne; she attended St Mary's Academy. Rita's first marriage was to Ralph C. Connell in 1938, her second marriage was to Andrew "Chip" Babic August 29, 1960, and sadly he passed away August 24, 1991. In her younger years Rita was employed at Awrey's Bakery in Livonia, she enjoyed baking , decorating cakes, making wine from the grapes she grew in her garden, homemaking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Rita is survived by her children, Bob (Sharon) Connell of Riverview, MI, Andrew (Carol) Babic of S.Rockwood, MI, Jerry (Kathy) Connell of Springhill, Fl and Tom (Barb) Babic of Brownstown, MI; grandchildren, Mike Connell, James Connell, Kim Marshall, Andrew (Stephanie) Babic Jr, Christy Dorsch and Joey (Kalin) Babic; great grandchildren, Austin, Ocean, Ava and Sequoia Connell, Justin Marshall, Mariah Marshall, Brittany Babic, Mark Dorsch and Christopher Babic.
