Mrs. Rena Swiney

Rena Katherine (Martin) Swiney was born on January 7th, 1931 to Arthur and Ida Martin in Amba, KY. She moved to Michigan in 1947 after her mother died to find work. She met Elmer Swiney about 2 weeks after arriving in MI and they married in 1948. Elmer preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and a daughter-in-law. She is survived by two sisters and two brothers, two daughters, two sons, 6 granddaughters, two grandsons and twelve great grandchildren. Rena attended the Church of Christ at Toler Creek, KY, where she was baptized as a young girl. Rena was a member of the Wyandotte Church of Christ, which became the Gateway Church of Christ in Southgate, MI.
