Mary Theresa Floyd, age 90, formerly of Newport, passed away Wednesday August 6, 2014 at Medilodge of Monroe, she had been in declining health. Mary was born July 20, 1924 in Monroe to Eli and Theresa (Cousino) Nadeau, she married Richard Floyd on September 21, 1946 in St Charles Catholic Church Newport, sadly he preceded her in death on May 14, 1981. Mary was attended St Charles Schools, she was a life time member of St Charles Catholic Church Newport, the church altar society and was very active with the church luncheons. Mary was employed at Ford Motor Company in Flat Rock and Monroe Plants as an assembler, she retired after 30 years. Mary was a member of Local #723 and life member of Frenchtown Senior Citizens. Mary loved to cook and be with her family, she always looked forward to cooking the fresh fish the family brought home in the summer. Mary is survived by grandson, Travis Floyd; brother & sister in law, Martin and Catherine "Kitty" Nadeau of Monroe; niece & nephews, Kimalyce (Cory) Hodge of Taylor, Martin (Lisa) Nadeau of Monroe and Michael Nadeau of Monroe. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, John "Jackie" Floyd, brother, Richard Nadeau and sister in law, Elaine Nadeau.
