Mrs. Katherine Ann Ball

Katherine Ann Ball, age 86 of Monroe, passed away November 25, 2016. Katherine was born in Monroe on November 25, 1930 to the late George and Mildred (Langley) Bieber. After graduating from Summerfield High School, Katherine would marry her late husband Joseph Andrew Ball on September 6, 1955. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2001. Katherine loved taking care of people. For over 31 years she was a nurse aide at both the Mercy Memorial Nursing Care Center and Beach Nursing Home. She was a longtime member of Dundee Baptist Church and enjoyed baking goodies for her family and friends. Especially her famous Christmas cookies. Loving mother of Willard Ball of Newport and Nancy (Sterling) Kidd. Proud grandmother of Elizabeth (Bill) Chinavare, Kelly Jo Kidd, Linda Rae Green, Joseph Andrew Ball, and Daniel Patrick (Jennah) Kidd. Great grandmother of Grace Ann Green, Lydia Rae Kidd, Bristol Rose Kidd, and Lincoln Sterling Chinavare. Katherine also leaves behind a close family friend Dave Hicks. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings George Bieber, John Bieber, and Marylin Cissne. Visitation will take place on Monday from 4-8pm at the Allore Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave., Monroe. Funeral Services, also taking place at the funeral home, will begin at 11am on Tuesday. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, LaSalle.
