Mrs. Karen Ann Chinavare

Karen Ann Gaynier Chinavare, age 75 of Lupton, MI, formerly of South Rockwood, passed away peacefully March 2nd, 2017. Loving wife of 55 years to Spencer Chinavare. Dear mother of Mike (Denise), James (Carolyn), Steve (Hana), and Scott (Therese). Proud grandmother of 16, great grandmother of 10, with number 11 expected in June. Karen is also survived by her siblings Milo (Peggy) Gaynier, Dale (Bernie) Gaynier, Edwin Gaynier and Dawn Brow. Preceded in death by her parents Neland and Dora Gaynier, a brother Donald Gaynier, and sister Marcella Raipi. After graduating high school Karen worked as an agent for Mercure Insurance. After retiring she would also work for Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic School in Lincoln Park. She was a member of the Catholic Christian Women and Lions Club in Hale, MI, a Cub Scout Den Mother in Gibraltar, as well as a member of the Red Hat Society. She also spent many years delivering communion in several communities to individuals who were homebound. She loved helping others, sewing, and quilting, but loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-8pm, Rosary 7pm, at the Ford Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 23620 N. Huron River Dr., Rockwood. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10am until time of Funeral Mass 10:30am at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, 32477 Church St., Rockwood. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mary, Our Lady of the Annunciation Building Fund, Pregnancy Centers in Ogemaw and Iosco Counties, and/ or St. Pius X Catholic Christian Women.
