Mrs Jean A. Gonyea

Gonyea, Jean A., age 90, of Rockwood, MI. passed away on December 3, 2011 at the Applewood Nursing Center, Woodhaven. Jean was born May 21, 1921 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to Joseph G. and Agnes (MacFarlane) Woodcroft. She attended St. Mary's Grade School, Rockwood and was valedictorian of S. Rockwood High School in 1940. She married Flaget L. Gonyea, July 31, 1944 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rockwood, sadly he preceded her in death on September 5, 2006. Jean was employed as a secretary at Flat Rock Schools Special Education Department for 29 years retiring in 1993. Her membership included St. Mary Catholic Church and Rockwood Historical Society. Jean was a world traveler, she enjoyed playing pinocle with her friends at the senior center, but most of all she loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her loving children Bruce (Pat), Mark (Tammy), Donna (Mike) Soule, Nancy (Bob) Nagle, Lynne (Everett) Cooper and Bonnie Jones, proud grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 15, preceded in death by her siblings; Marjorie Robillard and Joseph and Richard Woodcroft.
