Mrs. Jane K. Evans

Evans, Jane Katherine. Age 89. March 30, 2011 of Allen Park. Born Sept 28, 1921 of Polish immigrants Ludwig and Catherine Ochmanek in Detroit, MI. Beloved wife of the late John Evans Jr. Loving mother of John Thomas, Jeffery Michael and James David Evans. Dear sister of Eleanor Parczyk and sister-in-law of Margaret Balogh and Irene Ochmanek. Jane was pre-deceased by sister Lucille Williams, and brothers Sigmund, Edwin, and Edward Ochmanek, and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews throughout the US. Jane was also a WWII veteran of the Marine Corps, a graduate of Southwestern High School in Detroit, and an active member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Allen Park. Jane will be remembered for her devotion to her family and their needs, her upbeat frame of mind, her fastidiousness as a homemaker, and also for her famous "7 layer Jello dessert" that was always a hit at family holiday functions.
