Helen Landuyt, age 90, of Maybee, MI passed away Tuesday July 22, 2014 at Fountainview of Monroe, she had been in declining health. Helen was born May 20, 1924 in Detroit, MI to Anthony and Anna (Piwowar) Rusinak, she married Steve R. Landuyt August 18, 1950 in Turnerville, Ontario and shortly after marriage they moved to the Maybee area, sadly he preceded her in death on October 11, 2001. Helen was employed from 1942 – 1945 at the Willow Run Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti, where she worked on the B-24's during WWII. Helen was a homemaker and also helped her husband work the farm. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and taking bus trips to the casinos. Helen was a past member of The United Methodist Church in Scofield and was active with the church ladies society. Helen is survived by her children, Steve (Lori) Landuyt of Monroe, Linda (Mark) McDonald of Monroe and Sandy (Jeff) Heber of Monroe; grandchildren, Jaime McDonald, Benjamin (Natalia) McDonald, Heather Lanjuyt and Danielle (Joe) Engel; great granddaughters, Breely Snow, Brooklyn and Jolene Engel. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and siblings, Joseph, John, Mary Moore and Julianna Aja. In keeping with Helen's wishes services and burial were private, Liedel Chapel-Allore Martenson Family of Funeral Homes Maybee assisted family with arrangements. www.martenson.com
