Mrs Genevieve "Gen" Gramlich

Genevieve E. Gramlich, age 91, of Maybee, MI passed away Sunday August 31, 2014 in her home surrounded by her family, she had been in declining health. Gen was born May 18, 1923 in Scofield, MI to Henry and Clara (Gentzen) Niemann; she attended schools in Scofield and Carleton. Gen married Arthur D. Gramlich on November 7, 1946 at St Joseph Catholic Church Maybee; sadly he preceded her in death on June 25, 1982. She was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper at the Hall of Devine Child Monroe; she also was employed at the Ypsilanti Bomber Plant during WW II, and ran a catering business out of her home for many years until 1998. Gen's memberships included St Joseph Catholic Church where she was past president of the Christian Mothers Society, member and past secretary of St Theresa the Little Flower Guild, past president of The Ladies Auxiliary of Maybee VFW Post #4361, life member of The Ladies Auxiliary Monroe VFW Post #1138 and life member of The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Gen enjoyed cooking, was well known for her baking of coffee cakes, and was affectionately known as "Grandma Cookies". Surviving are her children, Larry (Teresa) Gramlich, Allen (Lynne) Gramlich, Daniel Gramlich and Sandra (Tony) Lieto all of Maybee; sisters-in-law, Ruth Kiebler of Monroe and Betty Gramlich of Belleville, MI; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; 4 legged friend "Molly". She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, infant daughter, siblings Earl (Betty) Niemann, Leona (Charles) Johnson and Shirley (Kenneth) Oelke.
