Mrs Elta C. Meyers

Elta C. Meyers, age 84, of Monroe, passed away Thursday September 12, 2013 at The Lutheran Home of Monroe. Elta was born August 12, 1929 in Monroe to John Jacob and Louella (Sachs) Benore; she graduated from Monroe High School in 1947. She married Hobart Frank Meyers on November 8, 1947 at St Joseph Catholic Church Monroe. Elta was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and Frenchtown Senior Citizens. Elta was employed for over 35 years at Monroe Evening News in distribution. Elta enjoyed gardening, playing any kind of card game, and cheering on her Tiger Baseball Team and most of all she loved being with her family and grandchildren. Elta is survived by her husband Hobart; children, Thomas (Micky) Meyers of Monroe, MI, Suzanne (James) Clark of Prudenville, MI and Sharon (Thomas) Smith of Carleton, MI; sister, Katherine Dingledine of Monroe; 4 grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Mueller, Stacy Benardo, Melanie (Billy) Merrifield and Jeffrey Smith; 3 great grandchildren, Kyle Mueller, Samantha Mueller and Sofia Benardo. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Vernon Benore, Theron Benore, Alden Benore and Donald Benore.
