Mrs. Avis Cook

Cook, L. Avis (Marcum) of Trenton, Michigan passed away of natural causes on October 26, 2015. She was born on August 8, 1925 in Fonde, Kentucky. Avis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arlen O. Cook. They were married on August 20, 1945 and were married 51 years. She remained faithful to him. Survived by her son, Rev. Dennis (Jo Ann) of Howell, MI, daughter Brenda Leaman (Rev. Bruce) of Monroe, MI and son Rev. Gary (Carol) of Flat Rock, MI. She had six grandchildren, Steve (Sue), Aaron (Jacqueline), Sarah, Andrew, Austin, Kelsey and two great grandchildren Greyson and Maycee. She is also survived by her two sisters Wanda LaVigne of Brownstown, MI and Judy (Chet) Hintz of Sun City, AZ and many cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Margie Marcum of Trenton, MI, her brothers Hansford (Marc) and Elmo (Harold). There will be visitation on Thursday, October 29th at The Trenton Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes from 4-8pm and Friday, October 30th from 4-7pm at Gracepoint UPC Church, 2535 N. Monroe St. in Monroe, MI 48162, with a Home Going Service following at 7:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan District UPC for the William R. Starr Camp and Conference Center.
