William "Bill" Adoulph Payter, born February 13, 1924, died February 17, 2012 after a wonderful 88 years of life. Bill served our country in the US Army from 1943 - 1945. After returning home, he became a renowned custom builder and a local business owner. Bill resided in Allen Park until retiring in 1975 to Nisula Michigan, with his beloved wife Grace of 63 years. Even until his last few months of life, Bill lived an active lifestyle from hunting, cutting down trees to heat his home, to operating a tractor on his acres of land in the Upper Peninsula. He was a man that truly understood the meaning of hard work and what it took to provide a loving home for his family. Bill is survived by his wife Grace, three children: Karen Wasztyl-Bradley, Wm. Patrick Payter and Michael A. Payter (Laurie), grandchildren: Jamie, Karie, Marissa, Kylie (Pete), T.J., Adam, Heidi and Tanner. He was preceded in death by parents: John and Mary Payter, three sisters: Mary, I. Marguerite and Melvina and five brothers: John, Charles, Arthur, Andrew and David. "To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die." Memorial contributions may be made to Father Solanus Guild
