Mr. Samuel Michael Marino

Samuel Michael Marino, age 80 of Monroe, passed away September 29, 2016. Loving husband of Nancy. Dear father of Doug (Debbie) of Monroe, Mark (Kathy) of Glennie, MI, Joe of Monroe, Debbie (Mark) Menzel of Erie, and Karen (Michael) Moore of Strasburg, CO. Stepfather of Robin Neely of Lincoln Park, Renea Neely of Monroe, and Richard Ausbrooks of Monroe. Also survived by his sister Mary (Ralph) Digue of Monroe. Proud grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 7. Samuel was preceded in death by his first wife Janice Clark, and sisters Francis Smoot and Rita Daniels. Samuel was a faithful member of both St. Michael's Catholic Church in Monroe and Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. He was a supervisor at Ford Motor Company in Monroe for 30 years before retiring in 1999. He loved to collect coins and knives, as well as traveling to the casinos in Las Vegas, Detroit, and up north. Samuel loved his coffee, donuts, and chocolate, but not nearly as much as he loved spending time with his family and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-8pm. Rev. Roy Southerland will be officiating the funeral service at 5pm, all at the Allore Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm, Monroe. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
