Mr Robert W. Girard, Sr.

December 30, 2013 Robert W. Girard Sr., age 80, of Monroe, MI passed away Saturday December 28, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio. Robert was born September 16, 1933 in Detroit, MI to Lloyd and Madeline (Charron) Girard. His first marriage was to Signe Jacks who preceded him in death in 1977, his second marriage was to Barbara Jean Bilbrey September 29, 1993. Robert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting all types of game, his memberships included Canvasback Gun Club , past member of Detroit Beach Boat Club and he spent his winter months in the Florida Keys. Robert is survived by his wife Barbara; children, Robert (Cindy) Girard JR of Monroe, Rory (Kellie) Girard of Lima, OH, Jerome Girard of Monroe and Carie (Doug) Kuras of Monroe; grandchildren, Nicholas Fox, Nolan Fox, Derrick Fox, Cory Girard, Brent Girard and Jessica Girard. He was also preceded in death by his parents and daughter Cherie Girard in 1972. Family will receive friends from 2-8 PM Thursday January 2, 2014 at Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes Monroe. He will lie in state from 10 AM Friday January 3, 2014 till 11 AM where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St Charles Catholic Church Newport, Fr John Chinnappa of St Anne's Catholic Church Monroe will officiate, interment St Charles Catholic Cemetery Newport.
