Mr. Robert K. Brown, Jr.

Robert K. Brown, age 86, passed away March 12, 2013. He was born April 4, 1926 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Robert K. Brown and Rachel Eby Brown. He was a life-long resident of Allen Park, Michigan. He joined the navy in 1944 and worked on the ship LST 635. In 1948 he married the love of his life, Carolyn Graham. They were married for 61 years. After the service, Bob worked for 43 years at The Detroit News as a mailer until he retired in 1990. He enjoyed many yearly reunions with his shipmates. He also met monthly with past co-workers and friends for lunch, golf, or cards. Bob was very active in the VFW, Elks, and the American Legion from whom he received a 50 year pin in 2011. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and sister, Dorothy Murrell. He is survived by one sister, Lucille Gratz; his sons, Charles S. Brown, Robert K. Brown III (Brenda), James F. Brown; 4 grandchildren, Erica (Joel) Terry, Lorna (Darren) Wagner, Brian (Nicole) Brown, Austin Brown; and one great grandson, Jackson Wagner—and last but not least, his Kegerator. Memorial contributions to honor his memory may be made to The American Legion of Lincoln Park, 1430 Southfield Rd., Lincoln Park, MI 48146.
