Mr. Robert Hugh Moore

Robert H. "Hugh" Moore, age 91, of Rockwood, passed away peacefully January 23, 2016. Beloved husband for 49 years to the late Bonnie, and loving father of Kathy (the late Tom) Ferstle, Deborah (Tom) Southworth, and Bruce Moore. Proud grandfather of Brian Ferstle, Kevin, and Adam Southworth, and great grandfather of Kate and Samantha Southworth. Preceded in death by sister Wilma Dossey. Will be greatly missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Moore was a proud veteran of the Army Air Corp, serving in World War II from 1943-1946. Before opening his successful real estate office, Hugh Moore Realty, in Flat Rock, Hugh had a long career as a purchasing agent and comptroller in the construction industry. He also renovated and converted multiple homes into rental properties in South Rockwood, Flat Rock, and Wyandotte. An enthusiastic and adventurous traveler, he and his late wife traveled the world, including Europe, China, Russia, Japan, India, and Australia. He retired and lived in Florida for almost 20 years before returning to Michigan in 2005. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, from 2-8pm at the Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Road . Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11am at the funeral home. Memorials to Homes for Our Troops or Season's Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
