Mr. Richard W Cavell

Richard W. Cavell, 1919 – 2013 (age 93), passed away peacefully on April 17, 2013, at South Shore Hospital, Trenton , MI, after a long and most enjoyable life. A long-time resident of Grosse Ile, he was honored in 2012 as a Cavell Centennial Family on Grosse Ile. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Janet Cavell, of more than 60 years. They also lived and enjoyed many winters in Naples, Florida and summers in Muskoka, Canada. Richard served as a Captain and Personnel Officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during W.W. II. He then had a long and successful career in advertising with many years with Reader's Digest managing the advertising for international editions in Detroit. Richard was a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather and is survived by his three sons, William, John and Richard, three grandsons, Baker, Richard and Kirk, and one great grandson, Hudson. In his spare time he enjoyed family time, playing music (piano and organ), boating, and golfing. Richard was loved by all and lived a very full, healthy and rewarding life. He will be missed by the family and all who knew him.
