Mr Michael Gordon Kilgore

Michael "Mikee" Kilgore, age 42, of Monroe, MI passed away July 7, 2014 at University Hospital Ann Arbor. Mikee was born December 29, 1971 in Fairborn, OH to Gordon and Judy C. (Eldrige) Kilgore. Mike was a member of the Friends of Newport VFW #3943, currently serving as Chaplain and past vice president. He was also an ordained Minister; with great pride he performed his stepdaughters (Mandy and Van's) marriage ceremony overlooking Lake Erie, he was so proud to have written the ceremony himself. He loved volunteering at the Point and Newport VFW as a bartending. Mikee and Dixie also ran the Newport Fish Fry's for the past 2 years. Mikee was a very giving man who would give his last $20 to someone in need; even in his passing he donated his organs so that others may have a second chance at life. He understood the importance of organ donation as he was getting ready to be put on the heart transplant list. He enjoyed cars and boating before he had his LVAD implanted. He also loved going up north, Nascar and all animals. But most of all he loved his wife, family and friends. He will be greatly loved and missed by everyone who knew him. Baby, you always told me you would love me "Forever and a Day and them some" That is what I am holding on to until we meet again…Love Me. A Celebration of Mikee's Life will be held at 3 PM Saturday August 2, 2014 at Newport VFW Post #3943 5144 N.Dixie Hwy Newport, MI 48166, where family and friends will gather after 2 PM.
