Born in LaSalle, Buzz was the son of Roy & Myrtle (Dusseau) Bomia. A veteran of the United States Navy, Buzz married the love of his life, Georgianna Souza, February 28, 1948. He drove truck for Jones Transfer for over 37 years, retiring in 1987. Buzz was a member of VFW Post 1138, Monroe Boat Club, Monroe Knights of Columbus, River Raisin Woodcarvers and volunteered for the American Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America. He also enjoyed building decorative lighthouses and tin men for the front yards of family and friends. But most of all he loved family gatherings. Buzz leaves to cherish his memory, Georgianna, his wife of the past 65 years; children: Noreen (Roger) Raymo of LaSalle, Sheryl (Gerald) Valeri of Monroe and Bruce Bomia of Monroe; grandchildren: Heather Doom, Jennifer Haynes-Bussell, Breanna Bomia-Goodroad, Shane (Tara) Valeri and Tad (Shawna) Valeri; great grandchildren: Brandon Doom, Baylee Doom, Brock Doom, Hunter Gould, Dusty Gould, Zayleigh Bussell, Drake Shopshire, Dillon Valeri and Logan Valeri; as well as a brother Norman (Jane) Bomia of LaSalle and three sisters: Ellen Kettinger of Monroe, Rose (Jean) LaChance of Monroe and Maryann (Tom) Skinlo of Monroe. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Irla Bomia and a sister Jean Darby and a grandson Joseph Wells Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the VFW Post 1138.
