Born in Detroit, James was the son of Joseph & Edna (Johnson) Graczyk. A veteran of the United States Army, he served during WWII from 1942-1945. He married Dorothy Dines on June 19, 1940. Sadly she preceded him in death March 15, 1997. James worked for 32 ½ years at Tecumseh Products until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered at both the Lutheran Home and Monroe Senior Center. James also was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and enjoyed going to the casino with his friends, but he was probably best know for always being willing to help others. James leave to cherish his memory his children: Ralph (Hilda) Graczyk of Toledo, Tom Graczyk of Monroe, William Graczyk of Monroe, Evon McLachlin of Monroe and Denise Jevince of Monroe; two sisters: Eleanor Otlewski of Manchester and Donna Voss of Manchester; as well as 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son Robert Graczyk; four brothers: Fritz Graczyk, Raymond Graczyk, Eddie Graczyk, Albert Graczyk and one sister Elsie Beltowski.
