Mr. James E. Davis

James E. Davis, age 76, of Flat Rock, MI passed away Sunday October 12, 2014 at Mercy Memorial Hospital, and he had been in declining health. Jim was born March 27, 1938 in Ecorse, Michigan to James Haynes and Alice (Lajiness) Davis; he attended school in the Ecorse area. Jim married Mary Ann Gibson on February 11, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Newport, MI; sadly she preceded him in death on November 29, 2000. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, he was an avid fly fisherman and handmade most of his own fly's, he also enjoyed woodworking. Jim is survived by his children, James (Bernie) Davis Jr. of Pikesville, KY, David Lee Davis of Elkhart, IN, Jeffrey G. (Kim) Davis of LaSalle, MI, Cheryl Ann (Mickey) Morelli of Toledo, OH, Lorie Ellen (Ron) Heiden of Monroe, MI and Shanin Rae (Michele Henderson) Davis-Henderson of Point Place, OH; companion, Trina Kugler of Flat Rock, MI; 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, brother Robert Davis and great grandchildren, Gracie and Freija.
