Jackie Ray Foster, age 67, of Monroe passed away Tuesday April 22, 2014 at University Hospital Ann Arbor. Jackie was born November 6, 1946 in Secoe, KY to the late Aubrey Ray and Elizabeth Ruth (Quillen) Foster. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1967-1969, serving a tour of duty in Viet Nam. Jackie married Pamela Lynn Rader April 8, 1976 in Monroe. He was employed at Detroit Edison for over 33 years retiring in 2002 as a pipefitter-mechanic. Jackie was a member of Local #223, VFW Post #1138 and Disabled Viet Nam Veterans. Jackie and his wife Pam enjoyed riding motorcycles, after retirement they traveled nearly every state in the US on their cycle. Jackie also was an avid reader of western and mystery novels and loved spending time with his family. Jackie is survived by his wife Pam; children, Scott A. (Cathy) Chronister of Monroe, Jaime Foster of Homestead, Nevada and Wendy D. (Tim) DaFoe of Gilbert, Arizona; siblings, Richard Allen Foster of East Pointe, MI, Joey (Sherrie) Foster of East Pointe, MI, Phillip (Betty) Foster of Sweet Home, Oregon and Joyce (Roger) Clay of Warren, MI; grandchildren Eric, who raised as his son, Joshua, Julie, Travis, Madeline and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Tracy Gilenkirk.
