Mr Gary L. Navarre

Gary L. Navarre, age 78, of Gibraltar, MI passed away June 20, 2014 at Elmcroft of Downriver, he had been in declining health. Gary was born April 15, 1936 in Rockwood, Mi to Cecil and Geraldine (Gildersleeve) Navarre; he graduated from Trenton High School. Gary married Diane Banjanin January 31, 1959 at St Mary's Catholic Church Rockwood, MI. His employment included McClouth Steel and he retired from the Gibraltar Police Department as a Lt, he was a policeman for over 30 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1952 – 1954. Gary enjoyed attending Toledo Mud Hen's games, restoring classic cars and most of all he loved being with his grandchildren. Gary is survived by his children, Brian (Patty) Navarre of Kissimmee, Fl, Marsha (John Pirie) Houghton of Niantic, Conn and Cindy (Jerry) Butto of Trenton, MI; siblings, Ron Navarre of Las Vegas, NV and Suzie (Roger) Carroll of North Carolina; grandchildren, Candace, Natalie, Jacob, Lindsey and Megan; great grandchild, Keegan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Diane in 2012, daughter Deborah in 1960, siblings Gerald, Thomas and Marilyn Woods.
