Mr Eugene J. "Shab" Shabinaw

Eugene J. "Shab" Shabinaw, age 86, of S.Rockwood, MI. passed away May 23, 2013 at Rivergate Terrace in Riverview, MI, he had been in declining health. Gene was born March 14, 1927 in Rockwood, MI to Amos and Genevive (Zinner) Shabinaw, he attended grade school at St Mary's Catholic Schools in Rockwood and proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1944-1946. He had been married to the former Grace Wiseman and Delores Dushane. Gene was employed as an Airline Captain for Trans American Airlines for over 30 years, in his younger years he was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved to play golf. Gene is survived by his children, Gene (Lin) Shabinaw of Temecula, California, Tom (Sharon) Shabinaw of Baltimore, Maryland, William Shabinaw of Spokane, Washington, Faye (Mark) Carr of Courdelne, Idaho, Kathy (Chuck) Judd of DuVall, Washington, Mary Jo (John) Cloake and Bethann (Steven) Brom both of Livermore, California; one brother, Lee (Judy) Shabinaw of Newport, MI; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
