Mr. Ernie L. Collyer

Ernie L. Collyer, age 61, of Maybee, MI, passed away in his home at 6:45 PM December 12, 2013. Ernie was born June 10, 1952 in Monroe, MI to Russell E. and Marcella M. (Falkenburg) Collyer; he was raised in the Maybee area and attended Dundee Schools. Ernie married Vicky Halberstadt in Ann Arbor on December 3, 1976. Ernie was employed as a hi-lo driver at Ford Motor Co. Milan Plastic Plant for over 25 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed working on cars and tractors, raising horses and being with his grandchildren. Ernie loved to stay busy and spending every spare minute outdoors. He was known for helping anybody that needed help and would give them the shirt off his back. Ernie is survived by his wife Vicky; children, Ernie L. Collier II of Maybee and LeeAnn (Jerry) Webster of Montpelier, Ohio; siblings, Claude (Diana) Collyer of Tawas, MI, William Collyer of Monroe and Sally (Phil) Waldo of Belle, Florida; grandchildren, Tylor, Mariah, Trent and Chase, 5 great grandchildren. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents.
