Mr. Darl W. Komorny

Darl William Komorny, age 76, of Detroit Beach, passed away Saturday morning February 28, 2015. Darl was born April 12, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Lois Komorny, he married the love of his life Mary Walker on September 5, 1969 at St John's Catholic Church Pointe Place, OH. He graduated from Waite High School in 1956, and enlisted in the U.S.Navy where he proudly served as an Electrician's Mate from 1956-1960. Darl worked in the family business, Komorny Brothers Fishery in Toledo for many years until he started his own business, Komorny Fishery in 1972, he continued commercial fishing in Lake Erie until his retirement in the 90's, due to health reasons. Darl also did electrical repairs for family and friends for many years, he was also a very gifted pool player, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, had a good sense of humor and most of all he loved to spend as much time as he could with his beloved grandchildren.. Darl is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Ann (William) Palmer of Carleton, MI and Cathryn (fiancé: Peter Kean) Komorny of Maybee, MI; brother, Fred Komorny of FL; grandchildren, William Palmer, Madison Palmer, Emma Palmer, Ava Kean, Alyssa Kean, Maximus Kean and Alexia Kean. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Ted, Frank and Sally Majewski.
